How to keep your hijab in place

I’ve also struggled with hijabs that won’t stay in place. Especially on busy days, you want your hijab to stay put. It’s time to tackle this issue!

We’ve put together a few tips to help you go through your day with confidence.

Undercaps

An undercap is a small cap worn underneath your hijab. It’s a great way to prevent your hijab from slipping off your head. Placing a hijab directly on your hair can cause it to shift and even slide off due to the texture of your hair. An undercap creates a non-slip base that keeps your hijab securely in place all day long!

Pins

I know that pins can be painful and inconvenient. However, they’re a great tool to keep your hijab in place! Using a "no snag pin" will prevent your hijab from getting damaged, unlike safety pins. You can secure it under your chin and use a "straight pin" on the sides to keep your hijab from shifting.

Note: Quality matters. If you choose to use pins, make sure they are high quality. Some cheaper pins are made of rough metal and rust quickly, which can eventually ruin your hijab.

Fabric!

The fabric of your hijab plays a major role in this issue. If you wear a chiffon hijab and find it too slippery, opt for a chiffon hijab with more texture.

Petit Sam offers a variety of hijabs that don’t slip and don’t require an undercap. These include scarves made of viscose, tricot, jersey crepe, and Tencel. Our instant hijabs are also perfect for a long-lasting look.

Styling

Styling is key when wearing a hijab! There are many different ways to wear it, and each style fits differently. A looser style will cause your hijab to shift more, while a tighter style helps keep it in place. If you prefer a looser style, be sure to wear an undercap to minimize the chances of your hijab moving around.

Say goodbye to constantly fixing your hijab throughout the day with these tips!
