The fabric of your hijab determines how you should care for it. That’s why we’ve created a guide to the fabrics in our collections and how to care for each one, so you can enjoy your favourite hijabs for a long time to come.

Sand Crepe

Our khumoor are made from sand crepe and are available in a variety of styles. The fabric has a subtle, lightweight texture. Use the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine and wash your hijab with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover.

Heavy Chiffon

Our premium heavy chiffon hijabs are designed to stay in place, thanks to their slightly different texture compared to regular chiffon. Use the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine and wash your hijab with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry.

If you need to iron your hijab, turn it inside out and use the lowest heat setting. For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover.

Jersey

One of the most comfortable hijab fabrics is jersey. It’s soft, breathable, and completely opaque, making it a great choice for everyday wear.

Wash your jersey hijab in the washing machine at 30°C (86°F) with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover.

Tencel

Tencel is a smooth, slightly glossy fabric that is also more structured and fuller than some other hijab fabrics. It’s also a more sustainable fabric choice.

Use the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine and wash your hijab with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover.

Chiffon

Chiffon is a lightweight and airy fabric, making it ideal for warmer weather.

Modal

A modal hijab is made from a soft, smooth fabric that is both strong and stretchy. The fibres also tend to retain their colour well compared to some other fabrics.

To care for your modal hijab, use the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine and wash it with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry.

Viscose

Viscose is a soft and smooth fabric with a silky feel. Because the fabric is relatively thick, it can be worn comfortably in different weather conditions, especially during colder months.

Wash your viscose hijab using the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine with similar colours. Hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover.

Satin

Satin is a soft, lightweight and glossy fabric. The care instructions for satin are simple: wash your hijab in the washing machine at 30°C (86°F) with similar colours and hang it on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry.

For makeup or oil stains, treat the affected area with a stain remover. Want to iron your satin hijab? Use a very low heat setting and iron the non-shiny side of the hijab.
